The Cone Report!
The Saga Continues ( (Almost) Triumphantly!): Spring Mountain & Decatur Update (This Week in Chinatown)
Remember those legendary construction cones on Spring Mountain and Decatur? The ones that became a beloved (or should we say begrudgingly tolerated?) landmark in Chinatown? Well, folks, buckle up for an update that’s almost – ALMOST – too good to be true.
Our intrepid team of Chinatown explorers ventured out this week, armed with a healthy dose of skepticism and a thirst for… well, maybe not closure on this saga, but at least a glimmer of progress. And guess what? We found it!
A Glimpse of (Almost) Asphalt Nirvana!
We were greeted by the sight of…wait for it… actual pavement! Yes, you read that right. A significant portion of the road previously occupied by the infamous cones now boasts a smooth, black surface.
Now, before we all start popping champagne corks (or in true Vegas fashion, slot machine tokens), let’s manage expectations. There’s still some work to be done. A few stray pylons linger like lonely sentinels, and the project isn’t quite finished yet.
But hey, progress is progress! And who knows, maybe after they’re done with this section, they’ll have a few leftover buckets of tar and a generous spirit. Just sayin’, because those potholes a few yards west are starting to look like they could use some TLC (translation: serious pothole love and care).
Stay tuned, dear readers! We’ll continue to monitor the situation and report back as soon as those last cones are a distant memory.
That’s all for this week. Until the next one, remember, if it happens in Chinatown, it happens here!
See ya next Friday
