KROK Thai Food & Socialize marked its first anniversary on June 6 with a community celebration that drew friends, customers, and supporters from across Las Vegas. The event featured complimentary food and drinks, music from DJ RnBeats, and plenty of opportunities for guests to celebrate the restaurant’s successful first year in Chinatown.

Chef TK speaks to guests during KROK Thai’s first anniversary celebration on June 6, 2026, at Chinatown Plaza West in Las Vegas.
Since opening in Chinatown Plaza West, KROK has quickly built a loyal following thanks to its modern take on Thai cuisine, creative menu offerings, and welcoming atmosphere. Over the past year, the restaurant has also received growing media attention, including features on local television and praise from food enthusiasts across the valley.
The anniversary celebration served as both a thank-you to customers and a milestone moment for a business that has become one of Chinatown’s newer success stories. As KROK enters its second year, the restaurant continues to help showcase the diversity and evolution of Las Vegas Chinatown’s dining scene.

🌟 Hotai Plaza
This week, we’re shining the spotlight on Hotai Plaza, one of the most dynamic dining destinations in Las Vegas Chinatown.
Located at 4545 Spring Mountain Road, Hotai Plaza has been a fixture in the community since 1996 and continues to evolve alongside the district it helped build. Today, the plaza is home to an impressive collection of restaurants and businesses that showcase the diversity and energy that make Chinatown one of the nation’s premier culinary destinations.
Food lovers can enjoy everything from premium hot pot at Nabe Hotpot, Japanese-style yakiniku at 8 Ounce Korean Steakhouse, and late-night barbecue favorites at Chubby Skewers & BBQ, to a growing lineup of other restaurants, cafes, and specialty shops. The plaza continues to attract new investment and fresh concepts, helping keep it one of the busiest centers along the Spring Mountain corridor.
As Chinatown continues growing and attracting visitors from around the world, Hotai Plaza remains one of the district’s cornerstone destinations—a place where longtime favorites and exciting new concepts come together under one roof.
Whether you’re planning dinner, meeting friends, or exploring Chinatown for the first time, Hotai Plaza is a great reminder of why Las Vegas Chinatown continues to thrive.

Looking Back
🔙 Green Dispensary

Green front entrance
Longtime Chinatown visitors may remember Green Dispensary, one of the early cannabis retailers to establish a presence along the Spring Mountain Road corridor.
Located in Chinatown during the early years of Nevada’s legal cannabis industry, Green became a recognizable name for both locals and tourists exploring the neighborhood. Its distinctive green wall, modern showroom, and prominent location helped make it one of the more recognizable businesses operating in the district at the time.
While the Chinatown landscape continues to evolve—with new restaurants, retail concepts, and mixed-use developments regularly reshaping the corridor—businesses like Green represent an interesting chapter in the neighborhood’s history. For many longtime residents and visitors, the dispensary remains a reminder of how much Chinatown has changed over the past decade.
Do you remember visiting Green? Share your memories and photos with us as we continue looking back at some of the businesses, places, and moments that helped shape Las Vegas Chinatown.
Chinatown Gripes
How Many Warnings Do We Need?
For years, residents, business owners, and visitors have voiced concerns about infrastructure and pedestrian safety throughout Chinatown. Difficult left turns, poorly timed traffic lights, potholes, confusing bus stop locations, speeding traffic, and limited pedestrian-friendly infrastructure continue to be among the most common complaints heard throughout the district.
These concerns are not new. Chinatown Vegas has highlighted many of these issues in previous editions of The Gripes Section, and community members have been raising them for years. As new developments continue to bring more residents, employees, and visitors into the district, the need for safer crossings, improved traffic flow, better lighting, road repairs, and more pedestrian-focused planning becomes increasingly important.
The good news is that these conversations are finally gaining broader attention. Recent media coverage has shone a spotlight on infrastructure concerns throughout the corridor, and many in the community hope that attention ultimately leads to meaningful improvements.
Because the question is no longer whether Chinatown is growing.
The question is whether the infrastructure is growing with it.
