Breaking News

CHINATOWN EXCLUSIVE: The mystery of 4745 Spring Mountain is solved. 🍜 After 31 years of Pho Số 1 legacy, a new “PHO Concept” has officially claimed the space. We just spotted the new signage and a QR code teasing what’s next for this iconic corner. Is it a total rebrand or a new contender for Chinatown’s best broth? Scan the code and stay locked to ChinatownVegas.com for the full reveal.
👀 FOLLOW-UP: New Pho Concept Spotted at Former Pho So 1 Location
Just weeks after ChinatownVegas.com was the first to break the news that Pho So 1 had permanently closed after more than three decades in Chinatown, activity has already returned to the space.
This week, ChinatownVegas.com spotted crews installing new window coverings at the former Pho So 1 location on Spring Mountain Road (4745 Spring Mountain Rd, Spring Oaks Shopping Center), now reading “Pho Concept – Coming Soon.” While no details have been announced regarding ownership, branding, or the exact concept, the signage confirms the iconic space is officially moving into its next phase.
The speed of the turnaround is notable. After reporting the end of one of Chinatown’s longest-running Vietnamese restaurants, we are now the first to report that a new pho-focused concept is preparing to take its place—though exactly what form it will take remains unknown.
For now, there is no opening timeline and no confirmed operator, but given the history and visibility of this address, the development is already drawing attention from longtime locals and Chinatown regulars.
As always, ChinatownVegas.com will continue tracking this closely and will bring you confirmed details the moment they emerge. Stay tuned—big things brew fast on Spring Mountain!

Expect daytime highs to hover comfortably in the mid-60s. While the afternoons are warm and golden, the desert air still has a bite once the sun goes down, with evening lows dipping into the low 40s. Whether you’re heading out for a midday boba or late-night skewers, you’ll want to keep a light jacket handy for those crisp Vegas nights.

No umbrella needed—just sunscreen and good vibes! Perfect conditions to enjoy the neighborhood’s energy before Lunar New Year ramps up.
Community Corner

Highlighting the people and places that make our Chinatown special.
Baking a Difference at Tous Les Jours
In a neighborhood known for its incredible flavors, some of the sweetest things in Chinatown aren’t actually on the menu—they’re the acts of kindness happening behind the scenes.
This week, we want to give a massive shoutout to Tous Les Jours Las Vegas on Spring Mountain Road. While we all know them for their light-as-air Cloud Cakes and those addictive Garlic Cream Cheese breads, it’s what they do after the doors close that really warms our hearts.
The Daily Gift of Fresh Bread
Every single day, Tous Les Jours commits to donating 100% of their freshly baked bread at the end of the night. Instead of letting these delicious, high-quality bakes go to waste, they go directly to supporting children in need right here in our community.
It’s a beautiful example of how our local businesses are stepping up to ensure no child goes hungry while making our ‘hood a better place for everyone.
How You Can Get Involved

Looking Back

A look back at the time of Las Vegas Chinatown
From One Mall to Foodie Powerhouse: Chinatown Vegas’ 30-Year Glow-Up
Just over three decades ago, Las Vegas’ Chinatown was little more than a single, visionary strip mall on Spring Mountain Road. When Chinatown Plaza opened in 1995—with its striking Tang Dynasty-style gate and two-floor complex—it marked the birth of an official Asian cultural and commercial hub in the state. Back then, the area was virtually unknown to most visitors and locals alike: a quiet stretch west of the Strip, scattered with a handful of businesses serving the small Asian-American community.
Fast-forward to today, and what a transformation! That one mall has multiplied into more than 25 strip malls lining a vibrant 3+ mile corridor from Las Vegas Blvd to Rainbow Blvd. Over 225 restaurants now call it home, offering an unmatched diversity of authentic cuisines—Chinese dim sum and hotpot, Korean BBQ, Japanese ramen and sushi, Vietnamese pho, Thai street food, and global fusions that draw chefs off the Strip for inspiration. It’s no exaggeration to call Spring Mountain Road arguably the best foodie neighborhood in North America: a pan-Asian paradise where you can hop plazas for everything from late-night skewers to James Beard-nominated spots, all without ever touching the tourist crowds.
This explosive growth reflects the tripling of Las Vegas’ Asian-American population and the neighborhood’s pull as a true community anchor. From obscure beginnings to a must-visit destination for locals and visitors, Chinatown Vegas has proven resilient and innovative. And the best is yet to come—with ongoing corridor improvements, new openings like Claw World, and Lunar New Year energy on the horizon, the evolution continues. Here’s to the next chapter!

Chinatown Gripes
😤 Chinatown Gripes
It’s another week in the neighborhood, and while the food scene continues to evolve, the infrastructure remains stubbornly stuck in the past. For our recurring Gripes section, we’re checking in on the “usual suspects.” Despite the growth of Chinatown as a world-class destination, these five issues continue to plague drivers, pedestrians, and business owners alike.
- The “Spring Mountain Speedway” (High Speed Limits)
It remains baffling that a high-density, pedestrian-heavy district like Chinatown has speed limits that feel more suited for a suburban bypass. With people constantly crossing between plazas for dessert or tea, the 45 mph limit is a recipe for disaster. It discourages foot traffic and makes the neighborhood feel more like a transit corridor than a community hub. - The Pothole Slalom
Navigating our streets shouldn’t feel like an off-road excursion. The persistent potholes and uneven pavement—especially near the busier intersections—continue to wreak havoc on tires and suspensions. Patchwork repairs aren’t cutting it anymore; the district needs a comprehensive repaving that reflects its status as a top Vegas attraction. - Counter-Productive Traffic Timers
There is no “flow” on Spring Mountain, only “stop and go.” The traffic light synchronization (or lack thereof) remains a major headache. Drivers often hit a green light only to be met with a red at the very next block. This poor timing increases idling, worsens emissions, and fuels driver frustration, leading to riskier behavior behind the wheel. - Misplaced Bus Stops and Rideshare Chaos
Public transit is vital, but the placement of bus stops and designated pick-up/drop-off zones is frequently counter-intuitive. Many stops are situated in a way that causes buses to block entire lanes of traffic, while rideshare drivers are forced to double-park because there aren’t enough dedicated “loading” spots. This creates a dangerous bottleneck for everyone involved. - The Case for Banning Left Turns
We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: left turns out of the strip mall exits need to go. Trying to cross three lanes of oncoming traffic from a crowded plaza isn’t just difficult; it’s dangerous. These “suicide turns” are a leading cause of accidents and gridlock in the area. Implementing “Right Turn Only” exits would significantly improve the safety and speed of the corridor.
The issues stay the same, which means our call for change must stay just as loud. Chinatown deserves infrastructure that matches its energy and excellence.
Bright Side Note: Momentum is building with the Inspiring Spring Mountain Corridor project—repaving portions of Spring Mountain Road is slated for early 2026, new pedestrian crosswalks (like the one linking Chinatown and Shanghai Plazas) are progressing toward completion around Lunar New Year, and later phases aim to add wider sidewalks, better turn lanes/medias, and more. Business grants are also rolling out for safety and walkability upgrades. Keep the feedback coming—it’s helping drive these changes!
