Meet & Greet Miss Universe Laos, Payengxa Lor at Bambu Desserts in Chinatown
Bambu Las Vegas is proud to bring Miss Universe Laos to Bambu Desserts for a Meet and Greet as the Miss Universe finalist continues her US tour in Las Vegas.
Payengxa Lor is the first woman of Hmong descent to win the Miss Laos Universe pageant. The 21-year-old beauty queen was born in Vientiane, Laos. She will compete in the world’s most prestigious pageant, Miss Universe on January 14th, 2023 in New Orleans when she represents her country Laos.
Also born in Vientiane is Bambu Dessert owner Santy Luangpraseuth. Santy left Laos when she was two with her mom, dad, siblings, and cousin who were in a refugee camp.
“My family came to the USA for a better life from a refugee camp when I was 2 years old. As a female immigrant business owner, it’s a dream to have the Miss Universe visit my store. And my mom still can’t believe it”
Santy Luangpraseuth, owner of Bambu Desserts
The buzz around Miss Lor’s visit to Las Vegas and in particular, Chinatown, has been amazing. Her welcome dinner at nearby ShangHai Taste on Thursday had more than 450 people try to reserve one of only 38 seats available for the event. The interest in the Meet & Greet has been even more intense.
Santy, her mom, dad, aunt, and cousins will be wearing traditional Laos dress when they greet Payengxa. As one can imagine, expect the emotions to be high because the Miss Universe and team representatives from their motherland, the place they left for a better life in the US, are visiting their daughter’s small dessert shop. Yet another American dream come true
The event is from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm and with the buzz surrounding this event, another large turnout is expected
