If I could only pick one place to eat when I return to Vegas, this might be the one. Shanghai Taste (SHT) is located in a plaza in Chinatown that also features Somisomi, Vietnamese and Thai restaurants, etc. While parking can be limited, there seems to be a decent turn around. I had bookmarked this place ever since it opened. I was so thrilled when we finally got to taste all the tasty treats we have been seeing in others’ mouthwatering photographs. The interior is definitely nice and clean and homey. A small dumpling restaurant with authentic tastes. There are 6 tables inside, but there is no wait. Upon arrival, we were given a menu to begin browsing while we waited. We made some choices on the menu and they showed us to our table. Before we could finish pouring our cups of complimentary Chinese tea, the orders were being delivered to our table. The service was very attentive and I felt very cared for by the staff. They also were very good about wearing face masks – covering nose and mouth!! We got 3 items. 1) Pork XLB (the soup dumplings) 2) spicy wonton soup 3) wheat gluten and wood ear. Each three menu items knocked it out of the park. I was truly blown away. I used to eat XLB when I lived in China as a child, then I would eat XLB whenever I could find a soup dumpling place. I could have traveled to the moon and stars with these XLB. There was consistency in the XLBs, and the broths were the richest and most flavorful I have ever experienced. Every single time. You don’t want to miss this place! Looking forward to the possibility of visiting this place again, perhaps with my incredible brother who recommended it to me.
