This way to Chinatown Vegas
Getting there is easy once you know your options, and choosing the right one can make your trip a lot more enjoyable. While rideshare is the most popular choice, there are several ways to make the short journey. To help you visualize the route, check out the quick video guide below from ShannonandRose, filmed exclusively for ChinatownVegas.com: How to get to Chinatown from the Strip.
How to Get to Chinatown from the Strip:
Travel Options: A Closer Look
1. Rideshare (Uber/Lyft) — The Recommended Option
For most visitors, rideshare is the easiest, fastest, and most stress-free way to reach Chinatown. From central Strip locations, it’s usually just a 5–10 minute ride, with fares averaging $10–$15 each way. The best part? You’ll get dropped off right at your destination’s front door, avoiding the often tricky parking situation in Chinatown’s busy plazas.
2. Driving — Convenient, But Parking Is Tough
If you’re driving yourself, be prepared for a challenge: parking can be limited, especially during peak dining hours (7 PM–9 PM).
Some larger plazas, such as the Center at Spring Mountain and Spring Mountain/Arville, offer multi-level and covered parking; however, patience is key.
Once you’re parked, exploring the neighborhood on foot is easy and rewarding.
3. RTC Bus (Route 203) — The Budget-Friendly Choice
The RTC’s Route 203 bus runs directly along Spring Mountain Road, making it the most economical way to reach Chinatown.
A two-hour pass is very affordable, and the ride takes about 15–20 minutes.
That said, bus stops and pickup spots along the Strip are not always ideally located, making it a bit of a hassle for visitors unfamiliar with the area.
With the upcoming Chinatown Redevelopment Plan, we’re hopeful that public transit connections will be improved in the future.
4. Walking — Technically Possible, But Not Recommended
The distance from the Strip to Chinatown is a little over a mile, but the desert climate makes this walk unsafe for most visitors.
especially during summer when temperatures often exceed 100°F (38°C).
If you decide to walk, take proper precautions, including bringing water, sunscreen, and timing your walk outside peak heat hours.
For most people, a short ride is a far better choice.
