The room went over capacity Thursday night, August 27, as Las Vegas Chinatown came together for the inaugural Chinatown Creator Awards—a private reception honoring 20 content creators whose work has helped bring the people, businesses, and flavors of the Spring Mountain Road corridor to a wider audience. COYA Living, the luxury apartment community at Chinatown’s eastern gateway, served as co-host and venue.

The room reached over capacity Thursday night as Las Vegas Chinatown gathered at COYA Living for the inaugural Chinatown Creator Awards.
Storytellers, photographers, videographers, food voices, and community personalities filled the room alongside chefs, restaurant owners, neighborhood partners, and guests, and writer, film director, and City Cast correspondent Jason Harris served as the evening’s emcee.
This was Chinatown honoring its own.
The class of 20 creators was recognized in five groups—the same groups through which they were originally introduced in This Week in Chinatown in May. Among the honorees in attendance were @lasvegasfill, @brandonfromvegas, @wheretogovegas, @therubyontherocks, @baileyzeats, @withlove_christine, @tiny_pennguin, @giselliii93, @tiarappgyo, @antonio_loves_wings, @heydonnah, @ceslynne, @shekuni_lv, and @studiosealv.
Honorees attending the reception received custom Chinatown Creator Award plaques as their work was celebrated before a room filled with peers, supporters, and many of the businesses they have helped spotlight. Meet the inaugural Chinatown Creator Awards honorees.

A Celebration Built by Chinatown
The evening was powered by an extraordinary show of support from Chinatown’s culinary community. Restaurants from across the corridor contributed dishes and drinks, including several creations and debuts prepared specifically for the reception, turning the awards into a true neighborhood celebration.
Two of the corridor’s own had extra reason to celebrate: both Sparrow + Wolf and Lamaii received MICHELIN Guide recommendations the night before the reception. Chef Brian Howard of Sparrow + Wolf spent the evening meeting creators and talking with guests, serving a smoky, wood-fired Isaan sausage brightened with fermented green mango, nam pla prik, and perilla leaf. Lamaii served a garlicky crispy prawn.

Fresh off Sparrow + Wolf’s MICHELIN Guide recognition, Chef Brian Howard joins Erica Bell at Double Zero Pie & Pub’s station to celebrate Chinatown’s creators.
Chef Steve Kestler and Aroma Latin American Cocina created a citrus-forward Chinatown Ceviche exclusively for the occasion, which became one of the evening’s standout dishes.
“It was an honor to be part of this great community event,” said Chef Steve Kestler.
Chef Jimmy Li and Shanghai Taste contributed a rich, exclusive abalone and sea cucumber meatball, while Double Zero Pie & Pub debuted its new, crispy-edged New York–style pizza.
China Mama served tangy orange chicken, while Crystina Nguyen of Mama’s House × Durango Social Club presented delicate rice dumplings with mung bean, pork, and shrimp. O.Onigiri offered a tri-pack of unagi, wagyu, and shrimp tempura. Noodlehead‘s famous beef rolls were passed throughout both rooms all evening, while the restaurant’s station served its classic shredded chicken and cold noodles.

Charismatic Yo, Mochi! founder Santy Luangpraseuth was on hand with the night’s crème brûlée mochi donut—a caramelized, custard-filled favorite. Chef Yuka of Moignet Café rounded out the sweets with a delicate, pillowy mini chiffon sando, and Milk Bread kept the table stocked with warm cheese bread and guava bread.
Longtime food and beverage veteran Paul Ellis poured wines throughout the evening and paired his port service with a rich blue cheese flight. The Alchemist Bar & Restaurant kept cocktails and zero-proof drinks flowing all night.
Among the guests were celebrated rock photographer David Plastik, whose work has appeared in Rolling Stone, RIP, and Creem, and legendary music publicist Mitch Schneider, whose career has included representing David Bowie, Ozzy Osbourne, Aerosmith, and Tom Petty.
Schneider later described the reception on Facebook as a “meaningful event” honoring creators “who’ve helped put Las Vegas Chinatown on the map,” praising the “taste bud-awakening curated bites from Chinatown’s top chefs.” Their presence added another dimension to an evening bringing together food, photography, music, and digital storytelling.
One Neighborhood, 23.9 Million Visits
The celebration comes as Las Vegas Chinatown continues attracting extraordinary attention for a single neighborhood.
“It’s 23.9 million visits a year … all concentrated in one neighborhood,” said Joe Muscaglione, founder of ChinatownVegas.com and Chinatown Amplify. “These creators have helped the world see why.”
The corridor is now home to 248 verified sit-down restaurants, along with cafés, specialty markets, spas, retailers, and nightlife stretching from I-15 to Rainbow Boulevard.
The creators honored Thursday have become some of Chinatown’s most influential voices. Through restaurant discoveries, opening-day coverage, photography, video, interviews, and everyday storytelling, they have helped turn individual businesses into destinations—and the corridor itself into one of Las Vegas’ most talked-about neighborhoods.
A Neighborhood Saying Thank You
Thursday’s reception brought together the creators who document Chinatown, the chefs and businesses that give the corridor its identity, and the community partners helping shape what comes next. The evening gave those storytellers a chance to receive recognition from the neighborhood they have spent so much time supporting.
“What made the night so special was seeing Chinatown come together in one room! All the creators, incredible chefs, business owners, and community supporters also celebrating one another,” said Ruby Anne, host of This Week in Chinatown. “The top 20 creators’ recognition was more than just content creation. We celebrated people who continue to share, support, and elevate the business, food, culture, and stories that make Chinatown Las Vegas so vibrant. We are incredibly grateful to everyone who participated and helped make the evening so memorable.”
An over-capacity room, an exceptional culinary showing, and appreciation throughout the evening gave the inaugural Chinatown Creator Awards a strong foundation for what comes next.
Most importantly, the evening allowed Chinatown to say thank you directly to the creators who continue telling its story.
