What a week it’s been! February has brought a whirlwind of Chinese New Year celebrations, all set against gorgeous, spring-like weather. The Year of the Snake is in full swing, and Chinatown has been alive with energy and excitement.
We’ve witnessed incredible festivities, from the vibrant celebrations in Chinatown on Saturday, February 1st, to a beautiful cultural showcase at Desert Breeze Park on Sunday, February 2nd. We’ll be diving into all the highlights from these events.
But that’s not all—there’s plenty of buzz around town with new openings, fresh rumors, and exciting developments. Asian comedians continue to draw massive crowds in Las Vegas, further cementing the city as a hotspot for top-tier entertainment. Their growing fan base is a testament to the increasing influence of Asian talent in the comedy scene.

Kick Back at Sand Dollar: Live Music, Cold Drinks & a Big Game Viewing Party
How can you beat the Sand Dollar Lounge as the perfect start—or end—to your Chinatown adventure? Live bands, no cover, artisan craft pizza, specialty cocktails, wine, and beer. The bartenders are top-notch, but if you’d rather skip the interaction, grab a cold one from the beer vending machine. Easy.
Oh, and did we mention? There’s never a cover.
Today, the Sand Dollar Lounge is hosting a Super Bowl Party – “Big Game Viewing”! Catch the game on a massive projector and every TV in the bar. Doors open at 2:30 PM, and seating is first come, first served.

Calling All Actors! Open Auditions for “The Glass Menagerie” at Las Vegas Little Theatre
Las Vegas Little Theatre (LVLT) is thrilled to announce open auditions for Tennessee Williams’ timeless classic, “The Glass Menagerie,” directed by Walter Niejadlik. This poignant memory play explores the fragile world of the Wingfield family, set in a faded St. Louis apartment. Amanda Wingfield’s yearning for a gentleman caller for her shy daughter Laura, coupled with Tom’s desire for escape, creates a powerful story of lost dreams and the complexities of family bonds.
Audition Details:
Dates: Monday, February 17th, and Tuesday, February 18th, 2025, at 7:00 PM
Location: Las Vegas Little Theatre, 3920 Schiff Dr. Las Vegas, NV 89103
Performance Dates: April 18th – May 4th, 2025, with performances on Fridays and Saturdays at 7:00 PM, Sundays at 2:00 PM, and Saturday matinees on April 26th & May 3rd at 2:00 PM.
Rehearsals: Begin the week of February 24th.
Characters:
Amanda Wingfield: 40-50s, an aging Southern belle. Must have a Southern accent.
Tom Wingfield: 20-30, Amanda’s rebellious son and the narrator. Southern accent.
Laura Wingfield: 18-25, Amanda’s painfully shy daughter who walks with a limp. Southern accent.
Jim O’Connor (The Gentleman Caller): 20-30, a very likable guy. No dialect.
All roles are available. Auditions will consist of cold readings from the script. Headshots and resumes are accepted but not required. Please note that LVLT is an entirely volunteer organization (non-paying).

Doya Opens in Chinatown: A New Korean Culinary Experience
Las Vegas’ Chinatown is known for its diverse culinary scene, and a new addition has recently opened its doors, bringing a taste of Korea to the neighborhood. Doya, a popular chain from Korea, has taken over the former 702 Karaoke space, adding to the growing number of Korean restaurants in the area.
What to Expect at Doya
Doya is known for its delicious jjamppongs, a spicy seafood noodle soup. The restaurant offers 10 different varieties of jjamppongs, as well as other Korean dishes such as bulgogi and tteokbokki.
The restaurant has transformed the former karaoke rooms into private dining rooms, providing a more intimate dining experience.
Opening and Location
Doya is now open for business and is located at 4240 Spring Mountain Rd, in the same mall as Mr BBQ and Mama Chai’s. They are open daily from 11:00 AM to 10:00 PM.
Chicha San Chen Opens in Chinatown, Drawing Huge Crowds
Las Vegas’ Chinatown has a new culinary addition, and it’s already creating a buzz! Chi Cha San Chen, a popular Taiwanese bubble tea chain, has opened its doors on Spring Mountain Road, and the crowds have been flocking in.
Known for its fresh ingredients and unique brewing methods, Chi Cha San Chen offers a wide variety of bubble tea options, including its signature Bubble Milk Tea, as well as fruit teas and other creative concoctions. The restaurant’s commitment to quality has quickly made it a favorite among boba enthusiasts in the area.
