Chinatown, Las Vegas – October 16, 2024 – Ready for Kare Japanese Curry? A bittersweet transition is underway at Shanghai Plaza. The beloved Yummy Rice, known for its delectable clay pots, will serve its last meal on October 20th, marking the end of an era for Chinatown diners. However, fans of Japanese comfort food have something exciting to look forward to, as the space will soon be transformed into a Japanese curry restaurant called Kare.
Local restaurateur and owner Chef Jerry Jin, a seasoned expert in Japanese cuisine, is helming this new venture. No stranger to the Las Vegas Valley’s culinary scene, Chef Jerry spent years honing his craft in Japan. He pioneered Japanese dining, opening one of the first such restaurants in Henderson over two decades ago.
Chef Jerry brings a wealth of knowledge and passion to Kare Japnaese Curry, which is expected to open its doors in November. “We are aiming to launch Kare around Thanksgiving and aren’t anticipating any delays,” Chef Jerry tells us. The restaurant promises a flavorful array of Japanese curry dishes sure to become a favorite in the Chinatown food scene.
